200 Calories
My husband and I tend to eat well… That is, we eat healthy foods: lots of fruit and veggies, whole grains and fats in moderation. Our problem is in portion control. Part of the issue is that there are only two of us, and most recipies are designed for families of four or more. We do save portions for lunch the next day, but I think we still end up eating too much fairly frequently.
So we ask ourselves: what would a sensible portion look like? Obviously the size will be different depending on what we’re having. Chicken and pasta will look different from salmon and a salad.
That’s why I found this link interesting: What does 200 calories look like? It provides a pictoral reference to what 200 calories worth of various snack foods actually looks like.
(So, that’s what - about 70 carrot sticks?)
